Man has long considered health and longevity to be the most valuable asserts in life. Scholars have found that in villages which are known for the longevity of their inhabitants, fish forms a main staple food. Also, Eskimo in Greenland not only regularly consumes large quantity of fish, but also lead healthy lives despite their cold and harsh environment.
Intrigued by these findings, in the early 1970’s, Dr. J. Dyerbnerg and his colleagues began to research and compare the health and diets of Danish people, who do not consume much fish, with whose of Eskimos, whose main staple is fish. After ten years, it was discovered that Omega-3 fatty acid (DHA, EPA) is very beneficial to the human body. Dr. Dyerberg and his team also found that DHA (Docosahexaeonic Acid) in fish plays a role in normalizing excessively high blood cholesterol levels.
DHA makes up approximately 10% - 20% of the human nervous system (i.e. the gray matter of the human brain and the nerve ends of the synapses). It is also an important component of the retina of the eye. Moreover, DHA if found in substantially greater quantities in human milk than in processed milk and it plays an important role in the health of the young infant.
DHA is not produced in adequate quantities within the human body and neither is it easy to ingest sufficient amounts through our daily intake of food. Therefore we need to make a concerted effort to eat foods that are rich in DHA.
DHA is particularly important for those who have difficulty maintaining a balanced diet.
With all of this in mind, SEMO has developed a new health food supplement made with DHA that has been extracted from tuna. Packaged in handy capsule form, SEMO SMOOTH is a good companion to anyone who strives to maintain good general health.
SEMO SMOOTH was the third health food product to be manufactured by Semo Co. Ltd. who also produces SEMO SQUALENE. Strict quali5ty control is enforced in the production of all SEMO’S health food items.
